Artist's Comments

The first piece of three in my "Global Warming" Final Major Project. For this is was focusing on climate change, and the deterioration of the Earth and "Mother Nature," representing it figuratively and focusing on my use of colour and layering. I do have a huge statement of intent about it, but i won't go into all that :p

All three canvases are 180x120cm... so for anyone who doesn't know how big that is - HUGE! (About as tall as a door) Although i actually really loved working on the large scale :)

So in this piece i was focusing on using light colours - the Earth is secure, protected and thriving, as "Mother Nature" holds it safely in her hands. The main image is all painted in acrylics, with the bottom section a colourful collage representing all the life on the Earth.

Thank you :) and yes, the main part is acrylics, although there is some collage and inks thrown in for good measure :p
